Our commitment
Under the Equality Act 2010 we have a duty to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. We take that seriously online as well as on site. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we have done
- Written the pages in semantic HTML with a single, properly ordered heading structure.
- Given every meaningful photograph descriptive alternative text.
- Made sure the whole site can be operated with a keyboard alone, with visible focus states.
- Labelled every field on the enquiry form and linked the labels to their inputs.
- Checked text and background colours for contrast against the WCAG AA thresholds.
- Used relative units so the page reflows when text is enlarged up to 200%.
- Kept the site free of pop-ups, auto-playing media, cookie banners and anything that moves without being asked.
Known limitations
This is a small site maintained by a working fencing and decking business rather than a dedicated web team, so we cannot promise every page meets every criterion at all times. If you find something that does not work for you, we would genuinely like to know.
